Naruto ep. 112
Confrontation between Shikamaru’s team and Orochimaru’s men commences. Explosions. Shikamaru and Neji come out, pretending to negotiate. Spider guy takes out Kiba, Naruto, and Chouji who apparently got caught in a trap. Kiba releases a purple smoke pill. When the smoke is gone, Shikamaru has the enemy caught in his kagemane no jutsu. The creepy girly-man leader has kunai thrown from Shikamaru’s back which makes him release the kagemane no jutsu. The big fat guy uses his earth barrier jutsu to trap Shikamaru’s team in a clay prison which drains chakra.
The other villains leave, telling the big guy to hurry and catch up. Kiba tries to attack the clay wall but his efforts are futile since the clay just regenerates on its own. Shikamaru notices that some parts of the clay regenerate more slowly than the others. Shikamaru talks to the big guy, asking the enemy to let him (Shikamaru) out because he gives up. Chouji starts eating chips to replenish his strength. Naruto and Kiba get pissed off because they thought Shikamaru was betraying them. Chouji tells them that it is all a ploy to verify the enemy’s position and reminds them what Shikamaru told them before they left Konoha (that they would risk their lives to save Sasuke and that since Shikamaru’s the leader, he’s responsible for them). Shikamaru asks Kiba to attack the wall farthest to the enemy one last time. Neji, with his byakugan, verifies Shikamaru’s suspicions. Shikamaru asks Chouji to super size and attack the weakest part of the wall and with that, they were able to break free.
